IPM integrates the gate drivers, power switches and many other protection/sensing features on a single module, that leads to enhance performance due to robust integrity, lower track resistance/inductance and rapid acting protection system also it offers high power densities and price benefits due to compact in size.
Generally, the gate to source (VGS or VGE) driving voltage levels are different for both. SiC based devices will have lower recommended voltage level on negative side compared to Si based devices, we prefer to go through the device datasheet once to understand the same. Moreover, gate drivers for SiC based devices should be optimized for operating at higher frequencies.
Power switches stacks are for more generalized application and preferable for the R&D works where multiple topologies can be developed using same setup, on other hand if your application is firm and at product level then you must go for dedicated power converters.
It depends on your requirements and complexity level in hardware. While sending us enquiry please write in detail so we can tell accurately, however if it involves new PCB design and hardware is of intermediate level approximately it can take up to 30 days.
